At The Covey, it’s not just about the beauty of the venue...

it’s about the heart and vision of the people behind it, dedicated to making your celebration truly unforgettable.

Meet Lloyd & Janice

Lloyd and Janice are the heart and soul behind The Covey, pouring their passion for community and connection into every detail of the venue. Lloyd, a native of Fort Collins, and Janice, who grew up in Loveland, share a deep love for Northern Colorado and its history. They believe in the power of gathering to bring joy and belonging, which inspired them to transform 35 acres of former pastureland into a space where life’s most cherished moments can be celebrated.

For Lloyd, The Covey holds a deeply personal significance. His daughter, Laurie Leflet, was his world—a talented horsewoman, barrel racer, and Queen of the Greeley Saddle Club. Laurie was studying to become an engineer when she tragically passed away on her 19th birthday due to a brain aneurysm. Lloyd never got the chance to walk Laurie down the aisle, but through The Covey, he has found a way to honor her memory in a much bigger way. This venue stands as a testament to the love he carries for her and the belief that every moment with our loved ones is precious.

That belief was solidified during a trip to Prague, where Lloyd and Janice met a delightful couple, including a woman in a wheelchair who had undergone brain surgery. During their heartfelt conversations, the woman shared how her beautiful memories had carried her through the hardest times. She paused and said words that deeply resonated with Lloyd and Janice: “It’s all about the memories.” Those words became the guiding philosophy for The Covey, shaping every event and every moment shared within its walls.

Together, Lloyd and Janice have created more than just a venue—they’ve built a place where love, life, and cherished memories are celebrated. They invite you to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, gather together, and create moments that will last a lifetime at The Covey.

What we want you to know:

At The Covey, we’ve created a peaceful and welcoming space where every gathering becomes a cherished memory. Whether it’s a wedding, celebration of life, casual event, or business meeting, our goal is to leave you with moments that last a lifetime.

Here, you’ll find more than a venue—you’ll find a friend, a sense of community, and the joy of sharing life’s most meaningful experiences. Because at The Covey, “It’s All About The Memories.”

The Covey: A Labor Of Love

The Covey sits on 35 acres of what was once a horse and cattle pasture, nestled near the historic Overland, Trapper’s, and Cherokee Trails.

When Lloyd and Janice envisioned creating a venue, they wanted it to honor the natural beauty and history of the land while providing a welcoming space for life’s most meaningful celebrations. With extreme care, they designed and constructed The Barn to complement its surroundings, ensuring the building fit seamlessly into the landscape.

Lloyd’s expertise as a craftsman and artistic welder shines through in every detail of The Covey. From the intricate custom metalwork adorning the property to the stunning 8x10’ chandeliers he installed with precision, his craftsmanship is the cornerstone of the venue’s unique character. Janice brought her keen eye for design to every decision, helping to create an atmosphere that blends rustic charm with refined elegance. Together, they personally planted every tree, rose bush, and piece of vegetation, turning what was once barren land into a flourishing, picturesque haven.

The result is a venue that feels like it’s always been a part of the landscape—a place where the beauty of nature meets thoughtful craftsmanship and a labor of love. The Covey isn’t just a barn; it’s a space built with heart, intention, and an unwavering dedication to creating unforgettable moments for all who gather here.
